The Letterblade Library - Doctor Who & Torchwood

Doctor Who - it's a incredibly expansive and all-inclusive science fiction universe that's been developing since the sixties. You can't expect me to summarize it! It's also a recent fandom, and I'm still somewhat in the thick of things, so you can't expect me to be coherent about it!

And then there's Torchwood - very recent spinoff, only two seasons so far. Same universe, but very different tone, as it's much less about people being brilliant and much more about people being fucked up; it has a fairly distinct subfandom. Most of my serious writing in this universe has been on the Torchwood side of things, as I find that end of the fandom far less intimidating. Also, during the first season, it had enough issues with characterization and so forth that I felt inclined to write lots of fic trying to fix it; the second season, being much better in general, has lessened that urge.

This is one of the very, very few fandoms I've been in where I've written fic without knowing the whole canon, which normally I hold as a personal taboo. This is because knowing the whole canon is virtually impossible. In short--because in long would take forever--this fandom is Godzilla, but great fun and full of niftiness and bloody amazing writers, and my fic is mostly about fucked-up Welsh people. And Jack Harkness has nested in my brain. Enjoy!
