Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon - the live-action version.

Yes, magical girl drama. With blonde wigs and sparkly CGI and a purple cat puppet. But it's good. Surprisingly, disarmingly so. The wildly popular anime pales immensely by comparison. In this version, the heroine is lovable, the secondary characters very well-developed, the stupid filler virtually gone, and the boys even prettier.

Sadly, also, it's very obscure, seeing as it will doubtless never be officially released in the US, and seeing as most people write it off as a cheesy drama version of a beloved anime. But well, well worth watching, if you can find the fansubs. My friends have officially subtitled it "Shiny crack!"
